What kinds of other destinations can we visit around Maratua?
There are many destinations you can visit in Maratua such as the famous Kakaban Lake -- the house of stingless jellyfish. We can also take you to the Sangalaki Sea Turtle Conservation and witness Manta rays, swim with friendly whaleshark in Talisayan, meet the sea people of the Bajau Tribe around Maratua Island, challenge your adrenaline to jump off of Halo Tabung Cave, and many more beautiful places.

How is the weather in Maratua?
Average temperatures in Maratua Island vary barely at all.  The average high in a year is between 33.7°C and 30.2°C giving you tropical temperature. We have rainy season in November to April with significant amounts of rains. May to October normally we have sunny days and very comfortable weather to visit. 
Does Pratasaba Resort sell merchandise?
Yes! Prepare your cash to buy our official merchandise at the resort. We have shirts, bags, and more products for you. Our merchandise is available in the Pratasaba Gift Shop.
Are there any signal or WiFi provided in the island?
Telkomsel is the best local provider in the island so far (4G) and we have no WiFi at the resort. Please leave your phone in your bag and take a break while enjoying the beautiful views of mother nature :)
What should we do if we're interested in collaborating with Pratasaba?
For any collaboration ideas, please kindly contact us in person and we can have further discussion afterwards.
What kind of payment is accepted in the resort?
We accept Rupiah cash or bank transfer. We also accept debit card and credit card (Visa & Mastercard) at the resort. We suggest you to prepare some cash in case we get unstable weather when doing payment through the EDC machine.
Does Pratasaba Resort have a restaurant and what kind of menu is served?
Saba Resto is our special floating dining place. Enjoy sipping your afternoon tea while watching the sunset. Most of our menu are fish dishes and sometimes we have chicken and meat. You can find our Western, Indonesian, Asian, halal dishes in the menu book. For special diets, please contact us in advance if you need anything spesific.

Accomodation

What kind of room do you offer and how much does it cost?
We have four types of rooms:
1. Saroja Suite: twin/kingsize bed, private suite with sea view, include breakfast for two person.
2. Kasilasa Grand Deluxe: twin/kingsize bed, room with sea view and private sunset balcony, breakfast for two person.
3. Seheku Deluxe: twin/kingsize bed, room with sea/jungle view, include breakfast for two person.
4. Janti Home: 4 rooms with sharing shower and 1 with the same standard as Seheku Lodge (Hot and private shower).

All rooms are provided with air conditioner.
Extra bed only available for Saroja, Kasilasa and Seheku Room with additional cost.

Do you have any special room facilities and amenities?
If you are looking for a private, calm, and family-packed room, you can choose our Saroja Cottages. Our Cottage provides a private hammock, private balcony, and a 42m square room size. plus you can have an extra bed here.

If you are looking for efficient pricing for groups or having trips with friends, you can choose our Kasilasa or Seheku type. We have sea view and garden view rooms. There are only 5 rooms with king-size beds and the rest are twins with 24m square each room size.

If you are on a small budget, then Janti Home is for you. With a guest house concept, we offer 4 rooms with sharing shower and 1 with the same standard as Seheku Deluxe (Hot and private shower). This is perfect for big families or backpackers who needs to save some cash.

Need a place to do monthly meeting outside? We also have a floating meeting room and Pratasaba Hall provided with LCD and screen, chairs and tables. See our Meeting Venue

Diving

What will I get if I enroll dive course with Pratasaba?
After taking several days of dive course with our dive instructor, you will receive a PADI dive certification at the end of the course when you met the requirements.

What kind of equipment / guide / boat provided by the dive center?
We offer 8 full-sets of diving equipment and other equipment open for rent. Please book in advance for this request. Our dive guide is ready to guide you to witness the beauty of Maratua's exotic seas.

How is Maratua's underwater condition?
The underwater condition varies from the slow current zone (Turtle Traffic) to mildly strong currents, particularly in The Channel/Big Fish Country. Therefore some of the diving spot require you to take Advance Diving Licensed.

Turtle Traffic, the name say it all! Colony of turtle chilling and resting on the low tide water.

Southern Area of Maratua is famous for the beautiful coral reef and macro animal hunting.

Transportation

Do you provide transportation to Pratasaba Resort?
We provide airport shuttle and speedboat from Berau/Tanjung Batu and transfer you to our resort (additional costs may apply). Please contact us 7 days prior arrival to book this service.
Is there any regular boat going to the island?
There is public boat available at Tanjung Redeb around 8am to 11am and they provide the boat with cheaper price at around Rp. 310.000 to Rp. 510.000/person. However, we can not guarantee how many boats are available per day. Guest can find it by themselves at Sanggam Berau harbor in Tanjung Redeb and Tanjung Batu for smaller charter boat. Our recommendation is better to have your own charter boat for clearer and quicker departure to Maratua.
Can you tell me in detail about flight information going to Maratua?
Susi Air from Samarinda is available every Monday and Saturday destination to Maratua (scheduled by airlines for 2023). It is prioritized for local residents at the moment.

Direct flight Citilink and Lion Air from Jakarta/Surabaya/Makassar to Balikpapan and continue to Berau is also available for your transportation option.

Which trip is more efficient to take, Berau or Tarakan?
​How long does it takes?
For efficiency and cheaper price, it depends, are you coming as a group (more than 8 people) or as an individual?

Tarakan provide bigger boats, which is perfect for groups. For individual tourists, it is more expensive than Berau.

We recommend our customers travelling from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta or Bali to take flight to Berau via Balikpapan since it is cheaper, as Berau has smaller boats with cheaper price.
